How to learn anything with 5 minutes a day: Quizlet

Quizlet

Dear Learners, Students and Parents,

Quizlet is one of the most useful, least known about apps for students and learners of all ages.  If you are looking to find a way to memorize multiplication tables, learn a language, get prepared for the vocabulary on the ACT, SAVE TIME on studying, or just trying to make a study group more effective, this is a great app to get.

The history of Quizlet is cool because it was actually created by a high school sophomore named Andrew Sutherland in Albany, California. In 2005, Andrew was meticulously writing out the 111 animals his French teacher asked him to memorize when he decided to write a computer program to help speed up the process. Over the next 480 days, Andrew personally perfected the code for the program that is now used by more than 2.8 million registered users worldwide.

Quizlet is a flashcard app that allows students to select from more than 13 MILLION pre-made flashcard sets, as well as make your own. Students can find sets for almost every subject, and really anything they could want to know about. If a student is in a study group, one of the members of the study group can get on the web site, create a flashcard set for the material, and share it with everyone else in the group. The app also allows you to memorize them in common note card form, or game form. We use the app most often for the 100 most common ACT vocab words, the 50 most used root words, and helping students memorize multiplication tables, roots, and prime numbers.

We love Quizlet because it is quick, easy, free, and students have access to the flashcards wherever they are. If you have kids in school, want an easy way to learn yourself, or know someone who does, we hope you will let them know about Quizlet. www.quizlet.com.
